We are dedicated to the rigorous study of Chinese language, history, literature, philosophy, and material culture. From oracle bones to contemporary fiction, from the Han dynasty to the reform era, our work spans the full breadth of one of the world’s oldest and most complex civilisations.

Our researchers collaborate across disciplines — philology, archaeology, art history, political thought — to produce scholarship that is both deeply specialised and broadly meaningful.
